That's right from June 19th MS are closing the
Zone to all CD games needless to say I'm pretty pissed off right
now, But apparently the new owners indiebuilt are talking to mark
hulka about a lobby at the Links Country Club Site from June 19th
(fingers crossed) and to my surprise I've discovered that there
still a Links lobby at Kali.com so all is not lost I guess

different .exe and wont effect normal Links, If you want to play
online with other moders you have to launch from mod.exe then use
the direct IP method to connect

running outta web space
Putting Break Line
When putting if the player Ani is in the way of seeing the break

temporarily removes the player (really for those who count breaks to
putt)
Pre Set Fade/Draw buttons for RTS
There's a cheat out for RTS swing if there using it you might as
well be
You can change the clubface/stance angles only when you are playing
with the classic click swing method. But if you want to create a
preset draw setup and preset fade setup and use those in RTS then
that is possible. (by taking advantage of a little bug in the game
1. start a round or practice session
2. press ALT+W to enter the swing method menu
3. choose CLASSIC method, click OK
4. go to the shot setup menu.
5. make sure that the "This Shot Only" box is NOT selected.
6. choose DRIVER from the club dropdown menu
7. choose FLOP from the shot dropdown menu
8. set up a standard FADE: ball pos. 2 clicks down from top, swing
plane -2 (outside-in), clubface 2 (open)
9. choose PUNCH from the shot menu
10.set up a standard DRAW: ball pos. 2 clicks down from top, swing
plane 2 (inside-out), clubface -2 (closed)
NOTE: ball pos. is 4 clicks down for any club other than driver and
the angles are 2 degrees for woods, BUT 3 degrees for irons.
11. now just repeat steps 6-10 for all the clubs in your bag.
12. leave the setup menu and press ALT-W to go to the swing method
screen
13. choose RTS and click OK
DONE!
now you can hit a controlled fade by choosing flop from the menu and
you
can hit a controlled draw by choosing punch from the menu
if you want to actually hit a punch or flop shot then just choose
straight shot and move the ball position manually in the shot setup
screen. (making sure "this shot only" is checked)

Slow motion on a Radeon video card.
This procedure involves adding your video card manually to the
Videocard.txt file for Links 2003:
Determine the DeviceID for your video adapter in the Dxdiag.txt
file:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type dxdiag and then click OK. The Microsoft
DirectX Diagnostic Tool starts.
- Click Save All Information.
- In the Save As dialog box, click Desktop, verify that the file
name that appears in the File name box is Dxdiag.txt, and then click
Save.
- Click Exit to quit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
- On your desktop, double-click the Dxdiag.txt file that you saved
in step 1d.
- Under the Display Devices section, locate and note or copy the
Device ID value. For example, 0x0177.
- On the File menu, click Exit to quit Notepad.
Add the DeviceID entry for your video adapter to the Videocard.txt
file:
Open the Videocard.txt file. The Videocard.txt file is located in
the following folder, where drive is the drive where Links 2003 is
installed:
drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Links 2003
Locate the following line: "Vendor = 0x1002 "ATI". This line
identifies the beginning of the ATI device listing section.
Scroll to the end of the ATI device listing section. The last entry
in this section should be the following:
0x5656 = "Mach 64"
BrokenAlphaTest
TextureOffset
Create an entry for your video adapter at the end of the ATI device
listing section that begins with the Device ID value that you
determined in step 1g from the Dxdiag.txt file. Something like this,
however, replace 0x5654 with your Device ID and "Mach 64" with your
Card Name. Both of those items were stored in the DXDiag.txt file.
0x5654 = "Mach 64"
NoCopyZinVidMem
On the File menu, click Save, and then quit Notepad
If you get stuck mail me your Dxdiag.txt and your Videocard.txt and
ill edit for you
Error Message "Out Of Range"
There is also a bug on some ATI cards where it resets wrong refresh
rates and you get the error message "out of range" To fix Left click
on your desktop and choose properties at the bottom left is
"Advanced" click on that then on the next page choose the monitor
tab make sure hide modes that this monitor cant display is ticked
and then there should be just 1 setting there to choose probably 60
hertz

Elite RTS Charts
New
Elite RTS Putting & Chiping % stance charts, Now with distances
there Eric ani but i tested them with david toms and they work
perfect ill check rest soon.

Disallow PA in Fastplay:
To Disallow Putting Assistant in Fastplay go to your MOP folder Here
for XP C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Links
2003\Mops Here for ME C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Links
2003\Mops Then you have to get a NPA stroke mop then delete your
MStroke.mop (they reappear on next load if they get deleted by
mistake) then rename your NPA mop to MStroke.mop then right
click/properties and tick "read only" so MS stroke MOP cant write
over it. If you want to still play Slow play with PA, in the games
MOP designer you can clone that new stroke MOP, give it new name (PAStroke)
and turn PA back on if want best of both worlds. I have included my
MStroke.mop (read only) in with the others just paste that in if
your lost
Load Links Faster:
Make a folder C:/Courses (or wherever) Then cut all your courses
into there leaving just driving.rng and driving.sha (driving range)
Then in game use course manager to add courses to game from the new
folder, But just say NO when it asks you to copy the course to links
courses folder (leaving them where they are) And when you get new
courses Put them in your new course folder and add in same way.
Make a folder C:/Wavs (or wherever) Then cut all your Wav's into
there, Then when u start the game instead of just typing <wav name
you press the send icon next to type window then browse to new wav
folder then in that window enter wav name without the < press enter
twice (next time you don't have to browse it remembers the folder
but you still have to click send icon and type in that window) This
is for both 2K1 and 2K3.
Not only does this mean if you have to install Links there all still
there but if you put them on a Slave Drive (I have) then if you have
to reformat there all still there!
